Building a path towards reconciliation through Indigenous sport in Canada

Creating a Digital Resource for Learning, Reflection, and Reconciliation

Sask Sport partnered with Indigenous leaders and Rock & Bloom to create the Indigenous Sport Timeline—an educational resource that highlights significant moments in Indigenous sport while supporting the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action. Together, we set out to build a digital experience that encourages learning, reflection, and meaningful action through the lens of sport.

Working collaboratively throughout the project, our role was to create a platform that respectfully centered Indigenous voices while making the content accessible, engaging, and easy to explore. Every design and content decision was guided by authenticity, ensuring the timeline would serve as a lasting educational resource for athletes, organizations, educators, and communities across Saskatchewan.

The result is more than a website—it's a tool for ongoing learning and dialogue. By combining thoughtful storytelling with intuitive digital design, the Indigenous Sport Timeline helps advance conversations around reconciliation while supporting Sask Sport's long-term commitment to inclusion, education, and meaningful change.
